A Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) Ensemble Classification Model: An Alternative Architecture for Hierarchical Classification

چکیده

Inthispaper,ahierarchicalensembleclassificationapproachthatutilizesaDirectedAcyclicGraph (DAG)structureisproposedasasolutiontothemulti-classclassificationproblem.TwomainDAG structuresareconsidered:(i)rootedDAG,and(ii)non-rootedDAG.Themainchallengesthatare consideredinthispaperare:(i)thesuccessivemisclassificationissueassociatedwithhierarchical classification,and(i)identificationofthestartingnodewithinthenon-rootedDAGapproach.To addresstheseissuestheideaistoutilizeBayesianprobabilityvaluesto:selectthebeststartingDAG node,andtodictatewhethersingleormultiplepathsshouldbefollowedwithintheDAGstructure. ThereportedexperimentalresultsindicatedthattheproposedDAGstructureismoreeffectivethan whenusingasimplebinarytreestructureforgeneratingahierarchicalclassificationmodel.
